How to impress in Job Interviews

Dear all,

Our efforts to make a good impression on others are known as impression management or self presentation. The desire to make a favourable impression on others is a strong one,so most of us do our best to look good to others.
Self enhancement:
It includes efforts to improve our own appearance. This can be accomplished through good dress, personal grooming and judicious presentation.
Impression Management:
Impression management methods are often used during job interviews that the organizations conduct the applicants for various jobs in order to choose the best candidates.Think for a while:would not you try your best to make a good first impression on an interviewer if you are applying for a job?
A person well dressed is respected in society, a person with good conversation gets on well and the last one is physical personality. We can cultivate good conversation and dress properly. The physical characteristics cannot be improved.

Applicant's Appearance:
Interviewers' rating of job applicants are influenced by the applicants' appearance and factors relating to this.Attractive persons have an edge over less attractive ones.

Technical questions:
They were easy, and i knew i had answered them right. The interviewer said i answered them wrong. What do i do in a situation like that?If you are engineer or scientist, you have very likely faced this type of scenario. It can be unnerving!

The morning of the interview:
A good night's sleep should be a priority before this important morning because there is much to do before 10 A. M. interview. The morning hours should be focused on preparing to make an excellent first impression.

Get Dressed for Success:
Conservative clothing is in and beach thongs are out.First impressions are formed mostly be non verbal communications including appearance, facial expression, eye contact, posture, and, least of all, spoken words.First impressions are formed within thirty seconds.

Get There Early:
Plan to arrive at the place of interview 30 minutes before the scheduled interview, otherwise you will be stressed and lose the advantage for the postive first impression.

Last-Minute Preparation:
Before u leave home for the interview make sure you have everything you need.Interviewer and receptionist names, address, telephone number, and directions to the place are critical.

Body Language:
During the interview listed carefully to the questions.Your replies should focus on your position to meet the needs of the job.
Good listening is more important, than simply interrupting the interviewers.Pay full attention.
Establish good eye contact and nod after every statement from the interviewer.
Disagree pleasantly.Maintain a friendly tone while replying and keep a relaxed posture.

How 2 Safe Guard Your Job

Dear all,We all are facing the adverse effects of financial crunch no matter in which company we are in.As days pass by many among us are loosing jobs and those in jobs are spending sleepless nights. Those who are in jobs must take measures to safe guard their jobs. The best tip i can give them is to be multi skilled. If u are a Java developer learn testing/sql/plsql/web designing etc. This makes u an asset in the company. When ever any of ur peers needs some help do it open heartedly .The thumb rule is never leave the office early.Even if u dont have work keep learning, so that u can improve your skills.Always be in your toes to grab the first opportunity ,so that u can be in the good looks of your employer.Speak with your employer tell him that u have acquired these skills and ur are happy to share the load.Try to have know how of other projects which ur peers are doing. So that you can fit in when there is a need.If possible write exams and get certifications which will boost ur morale and ur employer will have good impression over u.If u are supposed to send time sheet(Daily/weekly/Monthly) fill it correctly.Never keep more time for a work than the time it took to finish it as your employer too will estimate the time.If the work as taken more time than anticipated then write down the causes so that you can be able to answer if ur employer cross questions u.(Just in case)When no work always learn something never ever sit idol/chit chat.Take less breaks. If possible stop taking smoking breaks. For those who had lost there jobs:Keep all the skills in your resume which you have learned. We never know for which you get a call.Mention all the certifications you have.Keep ur resume in all the job portals. When ever u get a call from a placement agency have a pep talk.If u build a rappo with them (recruiters),they will get back to u when ever there is job which suits ur profile.Always make sure that ur cell in with you,A missed call means u missed a job,They may not call back you as there are many job seekers. If possible try to acquire new skill be going thru online tuturials. The above mentioned tips are some of them which i knew.Hope these tips are helpfull to you.
